The base of all Physiotherapy treatments, manual therapies can be utilised to provide may benefits.  These include reducing pain, muscle tension and scar tissue, while improving circulation, movement and mood.  These therapies include massage, stretching, myofascial release and passive range of motion.

Remedial Exercises

Remedial exercises aim to promote healing, gait re-education, correct muscle strengthening and aiding to increase performance, whilst reducing injury risks.  An often overlooked benefit includes animal owner bonding and improving confidence.  Exercises are often given as continuations from sessions and will be determined by the individuals healing phase and fitness.

Class 4 Photobiomodulation (Laser)

One of the most commonly used electrotherapies, photons (light rays) produced by the laser triggers a variety of cellular effects.  This can be utilised to improve tissue healing, reduce pain and activate anti-inflammatory responses.  Blue Skies offers class 4 laser therapy.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Therapy (PEMFT)

Pulsed Electromagnetic Therapy (PEMFT)

PEMFT generates a low-level electromagnetic field, which be utilised to optimise healing and improve neural feedback.  This electrotherapy has a variety of functions, making it beneficial in many different cases.

Shortwave Ultrasound

 

The use of mechanical energy to create soundwaves, evoking oscillation (vibration) of tissues, establishing cellular changes.  This effects ion exchange, membrane permeability and fluid exchange which upregulates the natural healing processes. 

Thermotherpay, Epioney Heat Pack

Thermotherapy & Cryotherapy

These involve the use of heat (thermotherapy) and cold (cryotherapy) to control pain and promote healing.  Aiding by altering levels of blood flow within the localised area triggering hormone release providing analgesic effects.
